Your Responsibilities

As a unit manager, you have the overall responsibility for leading, developing, and following up on the operations within food control and health protection. You lead, support, and coach a group of over 15 competent administrators and inspectors. Together, you work to ensure quality and develop the operations, with the goal of conducting effective government operations with high legal certainty.

The inspectors work within their respective areas of expertise based on the Environmental Code and food legislation. In your role, you serve as support in complex assessments and contribute to a shared understanding in case management. You are also responsible for workplace safety, finances, as well as results and follow-up.

To thrive in the role, you should enjoy working in a changing environment, where assignments and legislation are continuously evolving. You combine strategic and operational work and play an important role in translating changes into effective working methods. You also represent the administration in various collaboration groups, both within the city and externally. You are part of the management team together with two other unit managers and the administrative director. Together, you drive operational development to create a shared understanding of processes and routines so that we work uniformly. Together, we face challenges, and you actively contribute with your expertise and are unpretentious like us.

Your Competence

You have a good ability to coordinate groups and see the whole in our mission. You are clear in your communication, and you enjoy being both hands-on in everyday life and working on more long-term projects. You find it easy to prioritize and make well-considered decisions. As a person, you are secure and stable and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You have good collaboration skills, act perceptively and courageously, and communicate constructively.

We see that you have worked in the field of environmental and health protection, with food legislation or another relevant area, which has given you good knowledge and experience to rely on. We want you to have experience working in a leadership role and that you have a high digital maturity as we in the administration work in a completely digital work environment. It is also important that you can express yourself very well in spoken and written Swedish. If you have worked in municipal operations, it is a plus, but the most important thing is that you have worked with government operations as it is a central part of the role. You have a relevant higher education for the position and knowledge of administrative law. Leadership training or previous managerial experience is an advantage.
